State Police have released preliminary details on a fatal one-car crash just after midnight Saturday morning on Kinmundy Road just south of Pleasant Grove Road.
Reports indicate 31-year-old Nicholas Carroll of Kinmundy was traveling north on the Kinmundy when for unknown reasons, Carroll ran off the left side of the road and struck the guardrail end of a bridge spanning Dums Creek. Carroll’s car then went airborne and landed upside down on the north embankment. The vehicle caught fire and was destroyed.
Carroll was later discovered inside the vehicle after Kinmundy-Alma Firemen put out the fire. He was pronounced dead on the scene by Marion County Coroner Troy Canon.
