By Bruce Kropp Oct 5, 2021 | 8:33 PM

The City of Salem is joining the Illinois Department of Public Health in hosting a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Saturday.    The event will be held in the parking lot of the Salem Family Aquatic Center in Bryan Memorial Park from noon to four.

The clinic will offer both the Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccines.   The Pfizer vaccines require two jabs and are available to those 12 years and older.  For those who receive the Pfizer vaccine, a clinic for the second dose will be held on Saturday, October 30th at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.   The Johnson and Johnson vaccines require only one dose and are recommended for those 18 and older.

No reservations are needed and walk-ins are welcome.  However, specific time reservations are being taken online by going to the following address:  https://idph-mychart.pchosted.com/IDPH/signupandschedule/embeddedschedule?vt=24629&dept=9001410011289

Mayor Nic Farley would like to see area residents take advantage of vaccines.   It is also being offered free of charge at multiple pharmacies, hospitals, and health departments.
