William “Bill” Pratt Jr., 94, of Centralia passed away Monday, September 26, 2022, at Salem Hospital, with his family surrounding him.
He was born on October 8, 1927, the son of William Sr. and Bessie (Allison) Pratt in Richview. His father was killed by a train when Bill was only two years old. He married the love of his life, Valinda Conant, on September 1, 1957, at the Apostolic Church in Centralia and she survives in Centralia.
Along with his beloved wife of 65 years, Valinda Pratt, survivors include his sons Brent Pratt of Salem, and Brian Pratt and wife Sandy of Centralia; three granddaughters Ashley Pratt of Sandoval, Lori Pratt and significant other Brian Dennis of Centralia, and Kendra Pratt of Florida; two great-granddaughters Nevaeh Dennis, and Payton Dennis; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Along with his father, William Pratt Sr., Mr. Pratt was preceded in death by his mother Bessie Pratt; brothers Carl Woodrome, and Robert Woodrome; sisters Ruby Rains, Jessie Moore, and Minnie Finney.
Mr. Pratt worked as a loyal employee of Hollywood Brands Candy Factory in Centralia. Bill found his true love, Valinda while working there. Hollywood later was purchased by the Leaf corporation and Bill continued to work there until his retirement. He loved to sit on his porch and watch the traffic go by. Bill was a member of the Apostolic Church in Centralia where he was grateful for his church family.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2022, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Jonathon Urshan officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in rural Sandoval. Friends and relatives are welcome to a visitation time from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home in Centralia. Memorials may be made in Bill’s honor to the Apostolic Church in Centralia and will be accepted for the family at the funeral home.
