A 52-year-old Mt. Vernon man has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

Joseph Johnston of East Oakton was accused of pointing a rifle at another man who questioned him about hunting on his brother’s property. The incident allegedly occurred in the 1,000 block of Bethel Road in Rural Sandoval in November 2019. The man who confronted Johnson allegedly chased him before Johnston was able to get away.
