Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say an 84-year-old Alpharetta, Georgia man apparently got lost on his way to visit family in the Metro East and crashed his car early Saturday morning when missing a t-intersection near the entrance of Forbes State Park near Omega.

Sheriff’s Deputies say a park employee found the crashed car and 15 to 20 minutes later heard a man yelling for help.   The man, later identified as Antonio Sedran, was located about 300 feet away lying on the ground in a patch of woods.    He was transported to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Sedran told sheriff’s officials he had become lost as he was attempting to drive from Georgia to Wood River.  As he entered Forbes Park from the Omega Road, he apparently went straight where the road turned at a 90-degree angle.  He then hit a tree head-on.

Sedran said he had been able to get out of his SUV and started to walk towards lights when he ended up in the wooded area and eventually on the ground between his vehicle and the park office.  He estimated the crash occurred at two Saturday morning.   Sedran was found lying in the woods nearly six hours later.
