A Salem resident who has been pushing for the Marion County Board to get a website returned to Tuesday night’s meeting to see why after nine months of development the site had still not launched.
Board Chair Debbie Smith told Brock Waggoner the main missing items now are photos of some of the board members and committees. She felt those going to the website would like to know what their board representatives look like. Smith felt they should get all the needed pictures in the next few weeks allowing the launch to occur.
The website will also include meeting notices and agendas as well as minutes of past meetings, the e-mail addresses of all county board members so they could be contacted, as well as a map of the county board districts so residents can find out which district they reside. The system is already allowing county board members to receive official communications and board information through e-mail attachments instead of receiving all the information via paper communications.
