The 2021 Colt World Series has begun at Rent One Park in Marion. In the nightcap, the host team from Marion came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat Brownsville, Texas 8-2. Marion includes local talent Griffin Day and Charlie Hunter of Salem, Anthony Bounaura from Patoka and Aidan Dodson from the State Champion SC Cougars and he also earned the win on the mound. Marion returns to play tonight at 8pm against Covina, California and will finish round robin play on Sunday at 8pm against Aroma Park with the semifinals held on Monday and championship on Tuesday.
In other first round games on Friday Covina beat Brownsville 14-4 and Greensboro, NC over Aroma Park 10-0.
The Saturday schedule will see Covina v. Aroma Park at 2pm, Brownsville takes on Greensboro at 5pm followed by Marion and Aroma Park.
