By WJBD Staff Jul 19, 2021 | 8:45 AM

Online registration begins Monday at Salem Community High School. Students and parents are asked to complete the online registration process at www.salemhigh.com through Skyward Family Access by Friday, July 30th. Registration letters were sent in the mail on July 8th. Parents will receive any additional information by a Skylert phone call.

Students new to the district, excluding pre-registered freshmen, should call the Student Services Office at 548-0727 starting August 2nd for an appointment. Students who have withdrawn from school and would like to re-enter should have their parents call for an appointment. A meeting will need to be scheduled with the student, parent, counselor, or principal.

All freshmen, all other students new to the district, and students who have moved since August 2020 are required to provide proof of residency. This is a requirement of the State Board of Education. A dental and school physical examination and certain immunizations are required by the State of Illinois for high school. Please use the State of Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination form that includes your shot records. Forms are available at www.salemhigh.com or in the main office.

Any student entering the twelfth grade must show proof of receiving two doses of meningitis vaccine. The second dose must be administered on or after 16 years of age. If the first dose was administered on or after 16 years of age, then only one dose is required at twelfth grade entry.

School pictures will be taken on Wednesday, August 11th, and Thursday, August 12th, from nine am to eleven am and noon to three on both days.

No appointments are needed. Incoming freshmen will have their photos taken during freshmen orientation on Thursday, August 12th. More information on freshmen orientation will be released later.

The first day of class for Salem High School students is Tuesday, August 17th, at eight am.
