A Salem man was taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment after his riding lawn mower overturned while he was cutting grass near a deep ditch in the 500 block of Airport Road.
While initial reports indicated the lawn mower had overturned on top of Matthew Cannon, Salem Fire Protection District Chief Dave Duncan said Cannon was lying beside the lawn mower when emergency help arrived.
Duncan says Cannon was not able to get up on his own due to a prior medical condition and had to be assisted to his feet. He was transported to Salem Township Hospital as a precaution.
The report came in shortly after five Wednesday afternoon.
