A 38-year-old man moving from Texas to Detroit, Michigan has been arrested for possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated assault.  Gary Tanksley reportedly brandished the gun at a clerk outside the Huck’s Store on West Main in Salem after she asked him not to park in a handicap spot.  He left before police arrived, but was eventually stopped on I-57 at mile marker 137 near Farina.   Tanksley was arrested without further incident.

A 42-year-old Centralia woman has been arrested for felony disorderly conduct and misuse of the 911 system when the Centralia Police department received multiple misdials and medical alarms.  Shannon Beckemeyer-Stevenson of Fairway Drive continued to refuse medical treatment.  After her arrest, she was taken to the Marion County Jail.

A 35-year-old Mt. Vernon man has been arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies for criminal damage to property after he went back to get his truck Friday that he had left parked in a field in the 4300 block of Route 161 in rural Kell.  Kenneth Henderson of South 22nd was blocked from leaving by the property owner until deputies arrived.

Salem Police arrested two Salem residents on outstanding failure to appear in court warrants after seeing them inside the Village Garden restaurant.  56-year-old Hope Yates of Cottonwood Drive posted a $1,000 cash bond on an outstanding Marion County felony warrant for possession of under five grams of methamphetamine.  31-year-old Karrisa Bobbett of the same address posted $200 bond and was released on an outstanding traffic warrant.
