A 26-year-old Centralia man has been arrested for aggravated battery after allegedly striking another man with a piece of metal rebar.
Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson says Perry Nesbitt of North Hickory started chasing the alleged victim after he had gone to a home in the 13-hundred block of South Elm to pick up some belongings. The victim reportedly received multiple lacerations to his back and was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for
treatment of injuries.
Nesbitt was taken to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on the filing of formal charges.
