A 20-year-old Mt. Vernon woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash at Brookside and West Broadway in Centralia late Sunday afternoon.
Centralia Police say a car driven by Angelyssa Welling of Waltonville Road in Mt. Vernon ran into the side of a car driven by 28-year-old Lindsay Gazdik of Medlin Road in Walnut Hill after Gazdik reportedly ran a red light. Gazdik was traveling westbound on Broadway and Welling was northbound on Brookside when the crash occurred. The impact caused Gazdik’s SUV to flip over on its roof.
Welling was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital. Gazdik and a passenger in Welling’s car declined hospital treatment.
The Centralia Fire Department and Lifestar Ambulance joined Centralia Police on the scene of the crash that was reported at 4:51 Sunday afternoon.
