The Salem Township Hospital Board moved quickly to name a new CEO.
The hospital’s current Chief Financial Officer Alex Nazarian has been promoted to the position just two days after current President and CEO Kendra Taylor stepped down for an unspecified new job out of hospital administration.
Nazarian will assume his new position on July 16th, the day Taylor’s resignation becomes effective.
Nazarian has been at Salem Township Hospital as Chief Executive Officer since January 2019 and has been credited with helping with the hospital’s financial turnaround. He has a Masters of Health Administration and Masters of Business Administration from Indiana University.
The hospital board met in lengthy closed-door meetings on Wednesday and Thursday when they concluded Nazarian would be their best choice to lead the hospital into the future.
Hospital officials say they are committed to making the transition as seamless as possible and welcomes Alex to the role.
Nazarian will share his thoughts on his new position and the future of Salem Township Hospital on the WJBD-WSIQ news on Monday.
