The President/CEO of Salem Township Hospital is resigning effective July 16th.
Kendra Taylor made the announcement at the monthly hospital board meeting on Wednesday afternoon.
“I want to thank the Hospital Governing Board and all of the employees and staff. They have supported me throughout my entire 25 years of working for the hospital and I’m forever grateful for that. I just feel like at this point I’ve been offered some other opportunities that I’m interested in pursuing that are outside of Hospital Administration. Again while I’m grateful for the opportunity, I’m excited for new possibilities and all that means for my family.”
Taylor feels she is leaving the hospital in good shape.
“I feel like the hospital is at an amazing place and I’m thankful for my tenure as the CEO. I feel as thought certainly COVID has not left the area we are certainly in a better place with protocols and processes in place to be able to continue our commitment to provide faith, quality care for our patients. From a financial standpoint the hospital is doing well as well. Couldn’t be more grateful for our patient satisfaction score and HCAP five star rating again so I feel as though the hospital is in a really good place.”
Taylor has worked many administrative positions in her 25 year career at Salem Township Hospital starting as a staff nurse and ending as President-CEO.
Hospital Board President Mike Morton emphasized this was Taylor’s choice to leave and they were not able to talk her out of it. After receiving the news, the board went into a three hour closed session at the close of the regular meeting on Wednesday and will reconvene in emergency closed session at eleven
Thursday morning as they look at their best options to move forward.
