Daycare will be more affordable for low to moderate income families under changes announced by Governor JB Pritzker.
The goal of the additional benefits is to help more people return to work and for providers to get back on their feet. Governor Pritzker explains what’s new in the Child Care Assistance Program.
“Starting July 1st, we are lowering the cost of child care for 80% of Illinois families who receive child care assistance and families at or below the federal poverty line will now pay only $1 per month for childcare.”
Additionally, Child Care Assistance Program providers will see a 3.5% increase in the reimbursement rate.
