Meryl Streep got a birthday gift any New Yorker could appreciate.

In honor of legendary actress’ 72nd birthday Tuesday, artist and photographer Adrian Wilson and artist/production designer Matt Duncan teamed up to transform 72nd Street subway signs to read “72nd Streep.”

“It was one of these ideas that you have and you’re just like, ‘That’s so perfect’ — and she’s a national treasure, so everyone’s going to love it,” Wilson tells the New York Post.

All it took was some easily removable “P” stickers to pay tribute to the multiple Oscar winner on the uptown and downtown 72nd Street stops on the 1, 2 and 3 trains.

Wilson hopes Streep will see the subway celebration, though so far, she hasn’t commented.

“This is a gift from New York to one of our favorite people,” he says.
