The 1a softball state tournament champions are Illini Bluffs after their 3-2 win over Effingham St Anthony in the state title game at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in Peoria. St Anthony won their semifinal over Arthur 4-0 while Illini Bluffs beat Orangeville 6-3. The 3rd place game was won by Orangeville 10-5.
In 2a state finals, Rockridge knocked off Joliet Catholic 4-0. The 3rd place game saw Massac County beat Tolono Unity 5-1.
The 3a/4a state tournaments will be played today. The 3a tournament semifinals will be played at 10am with Lemont taking on Ridgewood and Highland playing Sterling. The 3rd place game is at 1:30 and championship at 2.
The 4a tournament starts at 12:30 with Marist and Huntley playing at the same time Lincoln-Way Central is taking on Minooka. 3rd place game is at 4 and the state title game at 5.
