A 33-year-old Centralia woman was struck by a car Sunday morning while walking down the middle of Noleman Street near Walnut Street west of the railroad overpass.

Centralia Police had initially received a report of the woman walking in the middle of the road.   A few minutes later, they received a report of the woman being struck in the center lane by a dark-colored vehicle that left the scene.

A passerby helped get the woman to the side of the road before police and EMS personnel arrived.    Police say the woman refused treatment and refused to give a statement about why she was on the road or the vehicle that struck her.

There was no evidence of damage to the vehicle.  The vehicle and driver had not been located as of Sunday morning.

The woman’s name has not been released.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight Sunday morning.
