The Centralia City Council has passed a resolution of support for the city’s Image Committee.
City Manager Forrest Langenfeld says the group has several plans designed to improve the image of the city.
“Power coating, re-doing a lot of our benches and trash cans downtown. That is one big piece, looking for signage for the downtown area kind of creating a district effect that they have other things all involving improving our community especially the central business district.”
Langenfeld says money has been raised for the projects. The committee just needs the assistance of Public Works. In the initial project they will help remove bolts holding down benches and trash receptacles so they can be taken to Americana in Salem to be power coated.
