The Centralia Gives Back event is planned at the Fairview Shopping Center in Centralia on Saturday.
Activities are planned from eleven to five.
The annual event is planned by Rent-a-Center and proceeds benefit a different charity each year. This year it is Sleep in Heavenly Peace, which builds beds for children in low-income families who would otherwise have to go without a bed.
Josh Black at Rent-a-Center talks about some of the planned events.
“There is going to be a car show and there is going to be a motorcycle show. There is also going to be a loud exhaust competition. We also have four food trucks. They have anywhere from corn dogs to taffy, cotton candy, funnel cases, lemon shake ups all of that. There is also going to be one to three all the first responders in our area will be responding to the event. There will be fire trucks there where they will be able to get up into the trucks and firefighters to educate them. There will alsobe police cars and ambulances.”
Black says more than 30 vendors will also be set up.
A total of $1,200 was raised for charity last year, a number Rent-a-Center hopes to easily surpass this year.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace reports every $100 donation allows for the construction of another bed.
