The Marion County Health Department is reporting only one new COVID-19 virus case on Thursday and Friday. Health officials say it was the result of community spread and did not involve a student or long-term care resident.
There are now nine active cases. No one is currently hospitalized. Three were released from isolation in the past two days.
The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting four new cases on Friday, with 12 positives currently in isolation.
Statewide, 3,207 new cases were reported on Friday, with 33 additional deaths. One of the deaths was in Williamson County in deep Southern Illinois. The statewide positivity rate for the past seven days is 3.4-percent. 103,717 additional vaccines were administered bringing the total to nearly 9.3-million.
