The City of Salem gas meter replacement project is moving to a new neighborhood beginning Monday.
The public works department reports gas meters will be replaced beginning Monday on Fielder, Cope, Wham and Donoho Drive.
City of Salem gas personnel will be in the area changing gas meters at homes in this neighborhood. The process requires that the gas meter to the home be turned off while the switch is made, Gas Personnel will re light pilot lights if you are home at the time the replacement happens. If you are not home, a note will be left at your door and you may call after hours to the police department 548-2232 and gas employees will be dispatched to turn gas back on and light pilot lights if needed.
