Two Odin firefighters were injured fighting a fire at what is believed to be a vacant mobile home in the Royal Lakes neighborhood of rural Odin late Sunday night.

Odin Fire Chief Greg Smith says the home at 2820 Delmar was already burned to the frame when they got there and they believe the fire had been burning for some time before they received the alarm.

Smith says one fireman was treated and released at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for apparent minor burns to the face.   The fireman was in the process of removing some debris when some of the debris hit him in the face.

The second fireman was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for chest pains.

Smith believes the home was recently purchased at a tax sale and the owner was not immediately available.

The cause also remains under investigation.

Salem Firemen provided automatic mutual aid.    The call came in at 11:40 Sunday night.
