A pole barn garage that had been converted into a home was damaged by fire early Friday night.
Sandoval Fire Chief Chad Parson says no one was at home at the residence at 402 East Perry. Upon arrival, firemen found flames shooting from the front of the home. They were able to get a quick knockdown and kept the fire from spreading to the rest of the home. However, there was smoke damage throughout.
The State Deputy Fire Marshal was called to investigate the cause of the fire. Parson says it is currently listed as suspicious in nature.
The home is owned by Pamela Eaker. The names of the occupants were not immediately available.
Sandoval Firemen were on the scene for about two hours beginning at 7:23 Friday night.
