An 18-year-old Mt. Vernon man was taken to a Mt. Vernon hospital by private vehicle for treatment of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash on the Route 161 Extension just east of the Iuka Road.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say Samuel Logue of Warren Avenue hit his brakes to avoid a deer that was crossing the road.
When he did, the rear of his vehicle began swaying back and forth causing him to lose control. Logue then ran off the north side of the road and hit a tree.
He was the only one in the vehicle at the time of the crash which occurred at 3:22 Thursday afternoon.
