Late arriving water bills through the mail will no longer be a reason for the Village of Sandoval to waive late fees. The board Tuesday night instructed residents who don’t get their bill in the mail in time to pay it by the 20th due date to contact village hall to get the amount owed. Sandoval officials have been told the problem is in the mail processing center in St. Louis.

The Sandoval Board passed an ordinance to crack down on junk vehicles in yards. The ordinance centers on unlicensed vehicle. The board will seek court permission to demolish the old IGA store that has fallen into disrepair.

Internet will be turned on at the library building now so residents can use a hot spot that will be made available outside. The board was told an extensive cleaning and sorting of books is currently underway at the library, but no opening date has been set until property tax money becomes available to pay expenses. Village Administrator LeeAnn Spieser announced loan agreements for the construction of the new water tower are being completed this week. Construction is expected to begin in June.

Spieser also announced work on the major park renovation should be completed by the end of May.

Residents are reminded that city-wide cleanup is scheduled for May 14th to 24th with trash dumpsters available at village hall. The Sandoval Village Wide rummage sale is set for May 22nd.
