Two new apartment buildings with four two-bedroom units apiece are being proposed for Sandoval.
Dave Stokes came before the village board Tuesday night asking what they needed to do to build the complex on the east side of U.S. 51 just south of the village park.
Stokes was told under the current zoning of the property, apartments could be constructed with a special use permit. His request is expected to go before the zoning board at its next meeting, so village board approval is possible at the May meeting.
Board members agreed with Stokes that there was a need for additional apartment units in the area.
Mayor Pam Gelsinger thanked Stokes for his interest in the community and agreed the project would be a great asset for the village.
