The Salem 10u Wildcats won the GMB Silver Ring Tournament in O’Fallon knocking off the 10u Eagles in the title game 14-6.
Kellen Nix led Salem with 3 RBI, the Cats also got 2 each from Zane Applegate, Jax Schuabert and Drew Consolino. Kai Graham, Jayce Keller and Jared Crompton also drove in runs. Bentley Bryan went 3-3 with a run scored, Owen Tennyson had a hit and run.
Salem advanced to the title game with a semifinal win over Brittons Bullpen 8-5. Applegate drove in 2 in the win. Jared Crompton also drove in a run. Kai Graham scored 3 times with 2 hits and Owen Tennyson scored a pair of runs. Schuabert and Applegate combined on the mound for the win.
Salem earned the top seed on Sunday with a pair of wins Saturday knocking off Millstadt 21-8 and routed the Glen Carbon Coyotes 14-1.
In the win over Millstadt, Schuabert drove in 3, Kellen Nix and Tennyson drove in 2 each with RBI also from Bryan, Crompton and Rhett Starnes with Crompton and Starnes pitching in the win.
And against the Glen Carbon Coyotes, Applegate drove in a pair with RBI also from Graham, Bryan, Tennyson, Schaubert and Keller.
