Both drivers refused hospital treatment following a two-pickup crash Monday morning on Route 37 near the Church Road intersection south of Salem.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports a 17-year-old juvenile male crashed into the rear of a pickup truck in front of him driven by 48-year-old David Hempen of Spruce Street in Salem.
Both were checked on the scene by United Medical Response.
The Salem Fire Protection District was also called to the scene, but they report no entrapment.
The juvenile was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The crash occurred at 7:42 Monday morning.
