The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting eight million vaccinations have now been administered for COVID-19. The announcement came Sunday as the department announced another 115,330 does on Saturday. The seven-day average is just over 125,000.
In Marion County, 17,299 vaccines have now been administered, with 7,938 people or 21.1-percent of the population now fully vaccinated.
In Clinton County, 23,535 vaccinations have been administered with 10,892 residents or 28.94-percent fully vaccinated.
In Jefferson County, 17,829 vaccinations have been administered to county residents with 8,060 or 21.3-percent of the population fully vaccinated.
The state reports Washington County residents have received 8,573 vaccinations, with 4,197 residents or 30-percent of the population vaccinated.
In Fayette County, 7,204 vaccines have been administered with 3,468 residents or 16.2-percent of the population vaccinated.
Clay County has administered 23,535 vaccines with 10,892 residents or 21.9-percent of the population vaccinated.
In Wayne County, 7,557 vaccines have been received by residents with 3,703 or 22.7-percent of the population fully immunized.
There were 2,666 new confirmed and probable cases of the virus reported statewide on Sunday along with 10 additional deaths. None of the deaths were in Southern Illinois. There had been one Marion County death, a woman in her 90’s, listed on Saturday’s report.
The statewide positivity rate for the past seven days has fallen to 4-percent.
