Kaskaskia College is hosting a Career and Technical Education Open House on Thursday at the college’s Crisp Technology Center in Centralia.
Programs that will be highlighted include automotive technology, carpentry occupations, heating, vent, and air conditioning, industrial technology, robotics, truck driving and welding technology.
Vice President of Instructional Services Julie Obermark feels those in attendance will be pleasantly surprised with the resources and training available.
“Growing demand for careers of this type we are working daily within the industry partners who need workers. So the jobs are there. We need folks interested that we can get trained and into the workforce for a great salary.”
Obermark says the open house will include tours of the program areas and labs, plus opportunities to meet with financial aid and academic advisors. There will also be information to compare careers and available jobs.
Due to COVID-19 those planning to attend are asked to register by calling 618-545-3255. You are asked to include wearing a mask indoors, proper hand sanitizing, and visitors completing the College’s prescreening tool available on the KC Connect Mobile App or at www.kaskaskia.edu.
