The top seeded Franklin Park Lady Bobcats will be back in action tonight as they open up their regional tournament hosted by Centralia Junior High. Salem will take on Casey Mt Vernon at 5:30 followed at 7 by 2nd seed Hamilton County taking on Centralia.
Last night in regional semifinals at Carterville the hosts beat Murphysboro 46-9, Carbondale over Herrin 32-22. At Marion, the hosts lost to Massac County by forfeit while Harrisburg routed Eldorado 66-5. At Benton, Johnston City over the hosts 42-21 and Central West Frankfort nipped DuQuoin 39-38. At Carlyle, the hosts over Wesclin 60-23 and Breese beat Highland 37-35.
Also in Class L tonight at O’Fallon Fulton, the hosts play Carriel while Triad takes on Collinsville. At Flora, the hosts welcome Carmi and Olney takes on Mt Carmel. At Waterloo it’s the hosts and Mascoutah with Red Bud taking on Sparta.
In Class S regionals last night, Patoka beat Odin in the first round of their tournament 43-4. Kenzie Wilkerson had 15 in the win, Flower Thompson added 8. Patoka will play against the hosts and top ranked Lady Rockets of Selmaville tonight at 5pm.
Raccoon also eliminated Iuka in the other quarterfinal 43-14 to advance to tonights game against New Horizon Christian. Also in Class S quarterfinals last night in the Allendale Regional, Kell lost to New Hope 50-30 and Field fell to St Joe Olney 31-19.
In Class M last night at Okawville it was the hosts over Steeleville St Mark’s 46-17 and Marissa beat Chester 32-29. At Pinckneyville the hosts beat Trico 32-23 with Nashville and Sesser playing tonight. At Aviston, the hosts over Central City 39-7 with Sandoval and Breese All Saints playing tonight at 6pm.
Also tonight in Class M at Wayne City, Rome takes on Fairfield followed by Wayne City and Woodlawn. At Vienna, the hosts play Meridian followed by Anna against Jonesboro. At Goreville the hosts beat Zeigler 59-8 and wait the winner of tonight’s game between Christopher and Cobden. Smithon will host Lebanon with Maryville Christian taking on New Athens. At Gallatin County tonight, Pope County takes on Creal Springs-Adams followed by Gallatin County and Hardin County.
