The Salem Wildcats got a late touchdown from Keyton Mitchell on 4th and goal from the 2 in the game’s final 5 minutes, and a goal line stop as time expired lifted Salem over Breese Central 13-12.

The game was resumed on Saturday evening after lightning postponed the game near the end of the first quarter on Friday night with Salem holding a 7-0 lead on a long touchdown run from Shawn Bailey.

Bailey would also come away with a big interception on Saturday to help the defense shutdown Central for a majority of the game.  The Cougars took a brief lead late in the 4th quarter, but Salem would come right back and cap off a long drive with the Mitchell 2 yard score on 4th down.

Salem is 2-2 on the season and will travel to Freeburg this week.  Central falls to 3-1.
