Salem 14U Wildcats won their first two games of the season in a rain shortened tournament in Olney playing their first game of the season and doing it without their teammate Wes Hunter who passed away earlier this month. Heydin Purcell contributed two RBI and Keaton Gullion had an RBI single. Cooper Lobek doubled, Deytin Parker and Aden Bass each singled. On the mound, Heydin Purcell and Luke Young combined for a one-hit shoutout while striking out six and walking two.
In the second game, Salem beat the Wabash Roughnecks 10-3. Heydin Purcell was 2-3 with three RBI and Kolsyn Quinn, Rhett Detering, and Deytin Parker each had 2 RBI. Ryan Detering, Ayden Rose, Cooper Lobek, Keaton Gullion, and Silas Moats all singled. Colton Shelton was the winning pitcher throwing three scoreless innings.
