The Salem Lady Bobcats finished off their regular season on 8th grade night with a 45-40 win over visiting Opdyke Belle-Rive. Emma Gregg had 14 and birthday girl Olivia Fehrenbacher scored 13 on her 14th birthday to help in the win. Melaina Zeddis single-handedly kept OBR in the game finishing with a game high 26.
The JV Lady Bobcats won 55-4. Addy Lever had 12, Brylee Pennypacker finished with 10, Hannah Smith 9 while Mya Russell and Marah Johnson finished with 8 each.
Salem will be the top seed in next week’s Class L Regional hosted by Centralia. They will play Tuesday at 5:30 against 4th seed Casey Mt Vernon. The 2nd game of the night will be 2nd seed Hamilton County taking on 3rd seed Centralia. The championship will be held on Thursday.
Patoka knocked off Iuka 32-3 to finish their regular season. Kenzi Wilerson had 20, Brookelynn Hill added 7. Patoka will open up regional play on Monday at home against Odin at 6pm.
