Fire has heavily damaged a mobile home in Central City. Centralia Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Ross Boshera says upon arrival there was heavy smoke coming from the Jamie Meier home at 24 Richmond Heights Mobile Home Park. She was not at home, but a grandmother was watching her three
children who all escaped safely after finding the fire in one of the bedrooms.
Heavy fire was burning in the bedroom and was in the process of burning through the wall to the kitchen before they got a quick knockdown. The bedroom and adjoining bathroom were gutted, but the fire never burned through the roof. The rest of the mobile home sustained heavy heat and smoke damage and will not be repairable.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Firemen received the call at 7:08 Saturday night. They remained on the scene for an hour 45 minutes. There were no injuries.
