A 14-year-old girl from Geff has died in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Wayne County.

State Police say the girl was a passenger in a pickup truck involved in a two-vehicle crash on Enterprise Road at the Illinois Route 161 Extension in Elm River Township.

Preliminary investigation indicates the pickup truck was traveling westbound on the Route 161 Extension when it collided with a northbound car that failed to stop at the stop sign at the Enterprise Road intersection.

The pickup was driven by 18-year-old Shelby Shelton of Geff.   The car was driven by 20-year-old Dulani Woodland of Mattoon.   After impact, Shelton ran off the right side of the road and overturned several times, and came to rest on the roof.

The 14-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene.  Both drivers and a 16-year-old from Fairfield that was also a passenger in the pickup were all airlifted to a regional hospital with serious injuries.

The Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation.

The crash occurred at 1:25 Friday afternoon.
