A pair of mass shootings this month has renewed the focus on increased gun regulations in the United States and in Illinois. Governor JB Pritzker was recently asked if more gun control laws are needed in Illinois. He says limits should come to “assault” weapons.
“We out to limit assault weapons. We have to define them properly and then limit the ones particularly ones that are repeating where you have bullets that are firing in multiples of a milli-second or within a second. those are things we have to do away with. They are of no other use than killing masses of people,” said Pritzker.
As of now, there isn’t much on the immediate horizon when it comes to gun control legislation at the statehouse.
