A 41-year-old Richview woman has been arrested for DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident in the aftermath of a three-vehicle crash on US 50 near Westline Road west of Salem late Thursday afternoon.
Initial information from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department indicates a vehicle driven by Shirley Rocha was eastbound on US 50 when she swerved into the westbound lane and hit a car driven by 32-year-old Randi Taylor of South Oak in Sandoval in the side. The impact caused the Taylor vehicle to spin around and strike another eastbound vehicle driven by 39-year-old Shanda Swagler of rural Salem.
Both Rocha and Swagler were reportedly taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment. Taylor reportedly walked away from the accident scene and has not been located.
The Odin Fire Protection District had to extricate Swagler from the vehicle.
The crash occurred at 4:32 Thursday afternoon.
