An all-day drill involving a “live-burn” will be held by several area fire departments on Saturday.
Centralia Fire Chief John Lynch says the drill will include burning several old abandoned homes on Wilson Avenue off Beech Street on the northwest side of Centralia.
The Centralia Fire Protection District, as well as Kell, Odin, and Sandoval firemen will join the Centralia City Department in the drill. It will begin at eight am and continue until four pm.
Lynch says the live burn will send smoke over the north side of Centralia. He notes it is fine to watch from a distance, but he’s asking spectators to keep their distance to allow the firemen to complete the drill.
