Releases from Carlyle Lake will be increased to 10,000 cubic feet a second starting Friday to bring down the level of the lake. The increase will result in flooding on the Kaskaskia River downstream.
The current release rate is at 5,700 cubic feet per second, with the inflow to the lake on Sunday reaching 15,330 day second feet.
With current precipitation on the ground, Carlyle Lake is forecasted to crest at 449-feet on Wednesday.
