Clinton County Sheriff Doug Maue says a 45-year-old rural Centralia man died as a result of a pickup truck – train crash early Saturday morning.
The sheriff identifies the victim as Brian Starr. The crash occurred on the Shattuc Road crossing near Hugo Road north of Route 161.
Emergency personnel arriving at the scene say they observed a heavily damaged pickup truck alongside the tracks. A check of the truck revealed the deceased male.
The crash was reported at 1:17 Saturday morning. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
