The Iuka Fire Department has announced that David Williams has been named both the firefighter and first responder of the year. The annual awards are voted upon by fellow firefighters and first responders.

Williams has amassed 121 training hours during 2020 and responded to 57 calls.

Fire Chief Kenny Eagan announced at the annual Fireman’s Supper and Awards Banquet over the weekend that the department had 124 calls for service in 2020. They included 79 EMS calls, 20 grass/field fires, nine motor vehicle crashes, four car fires, three structure fires, and nine other good intent calls.
