A 31-year-old St. Louis man formerly from Salem was taken to the Marion County Jail on multiple charges after an attempted traffic stop led to a foot pursuit inside a residence at Salem Mobile Home Park.

Lamont Huss was arrested for alleged aggravated fleeing and eluding, two counts of resisting a peace officer, unlawful possession of a weapon, illegal possession of ammunition or a weapon without a FOID card, and on a Marion County failure to appear in court warrant in a domestic battery case.

Salem Police say they initially tried to stop Huss as he headed towards the mobile home park.   He then allegedly ran from the vehicle into one of the homes where he was followed by police.   A scuffle ensued when they attempted to handcuff Huss leading to the two resisting charges.   A gun and ammunition were later allegedly found in the vehicle that he exited.

Salem Police received back up from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.

The incident occurred at 11:33 Saturday night.
