A fire believed to be electrical in nature damaged a Centralia home Saturday morning.

Centralia City Firefighters say upon arrival smoke was coming from the attic and roof of the Catherine Kuberski home at 19 Nelms.   At that time, all available city firefighters were called to the scene.

Firemen quickly traced the origin of the fire to the basement near the washer and dryer.  The fire then spread up the wall in the kitchen to the attic.  The fire was knocked down before it spread out of the wall.  However, part of the kitchen wall had to be removed to make sure the fire was out.

There was little smoke damage to the home as all the smoke went up into the attic.

The Kuberski family found the fire and all members of the family were outside by the time firemen arrived.

The fire call came in at 9:45 Saturday morning, with firemen on the scene for about an hour.
