The Marion County Health Department is reporting 13 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Ten of the cases are considered community spread and three as the result of household or close contacts. Three of the positive cases were in students. One was homeschooled, one was not at school during their infectious period and one is having contact tracing completed. None were in long-term care facilities.
There are now 27 active cases in Marion County, including eight who are hospitalized.
Clinton County is reporting 18 new positive cases on Wednesday. There are 33 currently on isolation. No one is hospitalized.
Jefferson County had no new cases on Wednesday. Ten remain in isolation.
The Washington County Health Department is reporting three new cases on Tuesday and Wednesday. There are no hospitalizations.
Statewide on Wednesday, there were 1,655 new cases and 17 additional deaths. None of the deaths were in South Central Illinois, but four were in Madison County in the Metro-East and one in Randolph County in the southwestern part of the state.
The statewide positivity rate for the past seven days is 2.2.-percent. Nearly 4.3-million vaccines have now been administered.
