The KC Blue Devils erased a 12-point second half deficit and knocked off visiting Lake Land 81-77. The win snapped a 4-game skid for KC and coach Brian Hancock who after the game told WJBD/WSIQ that they definitely needed that win, and its proof in the GRAC on any given night anyone can beat you if you don’t come ready to play.
The Devils got a fantastic game out of Chauncey Hughes who had 13 of his 19 in the 2nd twenty minutes. He became a defensive stopper and came up with several key stops in a game that was back and forth within 3 to 4 points throughout the game’s final 10 minutes.
Shomari Tillett had a big 2nd half as well to finish with 18, Chris White added 14 and Traeveion Jones 10. Everett Stubblefield had 20 points but only 8 in the 2nd half. Teutopolis grad Clint Webber added 13.
The Blue Devils are 7-8 overall and 4-7 in the GRAC as they get set to host Olney Central tomorrow night as part of a men’s/women’s basketball double header starting at 5:30 on WJBD.
In other GRAC action, 3rd ranked John A Logan knocked off Lewis and Clark 102-83.
