The Marion County Board has appointed a new member.
Debra Reid of rural Iuka was sworn in to replace the late Erwin Hahn and will serve out the remaining two years of his term.
“Right now, learning, and finding out what all the issues are and getting background information. Just getting my feet wet.”
Reid says she is interested in learning more about how the Police Reform Bill recently signed by the Governor will impact the county. She is undecided if she will seek election to the seat in the next election.
Reid has lived most of her life in Marion County and is a Centralia High, Kaskaskia College, and Southern Illinois University Graduate with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. She worked 38 years as Corporate Director of Information Management Systems at Radiac Abrasives in Salem.
