Four arrested during Saturday night drug interdiction in Centralia (left to right) Peter Trudeau, Erika Meskil, Justin Heern, and Adam King.
The Centralia Police Department reports a drug interdiction detail Saturday night concentrating on the Home Motel has led to four arrests.
Police Chief Greg Dodson says the motel has been the scene of six overdose calls since November and there had been reports of Fentanyl trafficking occurring from a specific room at the motel.
Centralia Police say an investigator-initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle returning to the motel driven by 26-year-old Erika Meskil with passenger 37-year-old Peter Trudeau.
The stop led to a search of Room 108 of the motel where over 70 suspected Fentanyl capsules, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia, as well as scales and packaging materials, were located.
Meskil and Trudeau were both arrested for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Two others in the room were also arrested. 40-year-old Justin Heern of Linden Street in Centralia was charged with possession of a controlled substance after a Fentanyl capsule and a drug syringe were allegedly found in his possession.
34-year-old Adam King of Parkview Drive in Wamac was taken into custody on a previous retail theft complaint and on a Marion County failure to appear warrant in a larceny case. The bond on the warrant is set at $10,000.
Dodson says the Centralia Police Department considers Fentanyl and its analogs as one of the most dangerous street drugs being trafficked at this time as evident by the associated overdoses and overdose deaths found in conjunction with its use. Focusing enforcement actions in this area is a priority for the Department.
