A 52-year-old Flora woman was airlifted from the scene of a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 45 at the eastbound entrance ramp to I-64 south of Fairfield late Friday afternoon.
State Police say a preliminary investigation indicates Tracy Williams was traveling southbound on U.S. 45 when she made a left turn in front of a northbound vehicle driven by 87-year-old James Newman of Enfield. The two hit head-on. Williams was flown to a regional hospital for treatment of injuries. Newman and two passengers in Williams’s car, an eight-year-old male and an 11-year-old female from Flora, escaped injury.
Williams was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way while turning left.
The crash occurred at 4:45 Friday afternoon.
